Victory Day is a great holiday. People in Russia love this holiday, although it's sad. It's in spring, on the ninth of May. Usually people decorate the city streets with flowers and flags. There is a parade in the centre of the city. The streets and parks are crowded on this day. The veterans gather together. People give the veterans flowers, often red carnations (гвоздики). Late in the evening there is usually a firework. There are a lot of films about the war on TV.
