Russia is my native country. It is the largest country in the world and it is stretched across Eurasia. Russia covers a total area of over \(17\) million square kilometres. The size of our country is stunning and every tourist travelling from east to west admires it. There are more than \(147\) million people. Russia is a country where people of dozens of nationalities live peacefully together. Every nationality cherish its own language, but the official language is Russian.

You can see different types of landscape in Russia — plains and forests, lakes and valleys, volcanoes and seashores. There are the Caucasus, the Urals and the Altai — the greatest mountain chains in Russia. Russia has a plethora of rivers and lakes and the most impressive is Lake Baikal. It's the deepest lake in the world.

It's hard to say what climate is in Russia, because it stretches from north to south and you can find there all types of climate, from polar to subtropical. The belief that Russia is a country where it's always freezing cold, is only partly true, for the northern regions. It's much warmer in the south. Russia possesses rich reserves of subsoil resources such as oil, gas, iron ore and many more.

There are a lot of Russian cultural icons, from tricoloured flag to Gzhel. Traditional Russian souvenirs like matryoshkas, amber, finifty and khokhloma are very popular among tourists. We love our homeland and celebrate it's rich culture and history. It's great that more and more foreigners are becoming interested in Russian heritage.

Write three words into each gap:

1. It is the largest country in the world and it is Eurasia.

2. Russia has a plethora of rivers and lakes and is Lake Baikal.

3. The belief that Russia is a country where it's always , is only partly true, for the northern regions.
