Russia is well-known for its history, culture and nature, but the most incredible thing in Russia is its people. Some foreigners have difficulty understanding Russian people, but it's easier when you know the peculiar surroundings they come from. Climate in Russia has always been severe, no wonder that there is a typical opinion that our counrty is a land of snow. This could not leave no trace on Russian character.
Severe weather conditions of the country is one of the reasons why Russians are strong and deal with hardships with dignity. Climate has made them careful, but Russians are friendly and welcoming. They are neither shy nor standoffish. Russian people love a heart-to-heart talk and having guests. The Russians are well-known for their hospitality. Following old traditions, Russians welcome their guests with bread and salt that are believed to be the symbols of hospitality and friendship.  

Despite the difficulties, Russians have always been proud of their motherland and truly loved it. Throughout the history they have defended it and guarded peace and prosperity in Russia. Some consider Russians close-minded. That's not true. Quite the opposite, they welcome innovations and open to everything new and modern. However, the traditions and customs are still strong and people love them.
Russian people are talented and smart. Russia is the homeland of many outstanding inventors, musicians, writers, artists.
Russian people are kind, cheerful and friendly. They are good friends and almost every tourist can agree that Russians are truly wonderful people.
