Different parts of the UK have different climate, but in general it's mild and wet. That's because the Gulf Stream, a warm Atlantic ocean current, strongly influences British climate. The weather in the kingdom can change swiftly — from dry and sunny to wet and cold, but Brits seem to be used to it.

The temperature usually is between \(6\) below zero and \(24\) above zero. It's very rarely freezing. Not all parts of the UK have the same climate. The south-east has warm and dry climate in summer and a cold and dry climate in winter. North-west of England, has cooler temperatures and more rainfall throughout the year.

Because of mild climate people sometimes are not ready for higher or lower temperatures. It happens rarely, but if it does, everyday life seems to be a bit shaken. A little more snow and the roads are jammed, a bit of hot temperature above \(30\) — people are glued to their air conditioners.

Changeable climate is responsible for all the jokes about British weather. Even if it's a sunny day, don't take chances, take an umbrella!

Humid climate without extremes is very good for plants, trees and flowers and that's the reason the whole island is very green and British people love gardening so much.
